Horse theft info

I was dreading opening that and finding the recent hysteria about "tagged" horses.

It was most refreshing to find that was not the case, some interesting points to consider:D

I was also glad to see no silly stories about plaits. I did think it a little OTT/paranoid though, given that horse theft (other than on loan horses) is pretty rare. It says stolen horses aren't worth much, yet describes complex organised horse thieving "tactics".

I'd like to know what the evidence is of these being being "known tactics".

Also, once I'd opened the link, I found it hard to remove from my computer . Not sure I've succeeded yet in fact.....

Sorry, I should have said in my post that this has been issued by Thames Valley police, so presumably the info has been gathered from crimes committed over a period of time.

I don't know why you can't close the link Fiona, I haven't had a problem. I hope this wont put others off opening this link as it is very helpful information. I don't think it's scaremongering personally, and it must surely be a good thing to be vigilant and well informed.

It opened in my computer in Word, rather than being a link somewhere. I then had to delete it about twenty times to get rid of it, and go into "recent items" and remove it from there too!

I tried to find the info on Thames Valley Police's site as it might be better to put a link to there. I couldn't find it, but there is a page on horse theft though here

I thought the info on taking photos of all four chestnuts interesting and a good tip, i didn't know they were unique and like fingerprints.
