hi i am as panicked as anyone about my horse being stolen , and all day we have reviewed security on the yard and booked the vet to microchip most of staffordshire , i then reacted to the news on the forem that 9 horses from cannock and 5 horses in lichfield in staffordshire have been stolen , i have phoned the police who informed me that there is a real threat as men have been spotted taking photos of horses , but none are reportedly stolen in this area , so there is obviously an element of panic and scaremongering going on , perhaps it is as well to be very very vigilant and up the security , but to keep as calm as possible

I fully agree with you here - but I will say, I have run a Horsewatch group in the past, and sometimes (only sometimes i stress) things are tried to be kept 'quiet' until further investigation.

I do think it is better for people to be on 'high alert' at the mo - but again, yes I agree, scaremongering can be a massive problem.

I have this morning also posted this about these horses in Cannock & Lichfield, and as i said, my daughter has many friends in Lichfield (2 of which own yards) so I will try and find out for defo.

Well said though LB xx
