My horse who is limited to me riding him in walk only at the moment following injury, is very hyped up and full of energy at the moment, he often gets like this at this time of year. Last night he shied at a 'shadow' in the menage, spun and bolted (in canter) as I was walking him on a long rein to stretch him.
Can you recommend a non heating chaff for him as he is on Readigrass at the moment and I think its to heating for him? It was fine when he was in work and fit, but now he is out for two hours a day on a sandpit and only ridden four or five times a week for 20-30 mins in walk following injury. I am thinking about dengi hifi light, or good doer.
Also is Barley water heating? I.e the juice from the boiled barley - the barley is fed to the hunters and the others get the water from it so its mixed into a feed so they can have a hot meal in the afternoon.
I think it is, but have been told catergorically its not. I believe it acts as a fast energy release.
