horse took a tumble

so i was lunging my gelding tonight in the pen and the surface was a bit deep as it had been raining but not anything crazy, he was on a circle and tripped but he went down and went over his head but he couldn’t get his leg up it was definilty scary to watch and i know he’s done worse things to himself but i can’t help feeling bad i wasn’t going to lunge i should’ve just left it. He’s okay so far physically although with him being 18 i am worried he’s eating and drinking normally, walking fine i feel so bad even though i couldn’t have stopped it

I'm sure he'll be fine if a bit stiff. Our arena has gone very deep, I'm not doing much in there at all at the moment. I think sometimes lunging is harder to judge - obviously there is no rider weight but you are relying on what you see and cant feel or help them.
