OK I still need to take my test (hopefully later this year) and was going to get a trailer November/December but Ive seen one that I really do want and hopefully will be going to see this weekend.
The plan is to drive on a provisional with my mum with me/L plates etc. This way we can take it out to practise before my test (unloaded) and we've got a few shows too which we could use it for with one of the horses.
The one we've seen is a Cheval - double trailer to take x2 17hh horses. My vehicle is a 2007 Mitsubishi L200 so weight wise all good. Must add will only ever be taking one horse/possibly mare with youngster next year.
It's a few years old but only been used about 6 times from what thety;ve told us - its now in a lock up not even 2 miles from my house and amazingly the people selling it are in the next village. The mother bought for her daughter whos no longer competing but kept it 'just incase' but the in case never happened.
Sooooo ... would you take a mechanic? Ive seen a few sites giving tips to look for but the model is fibreglass shell with a sealed, easy to clean floor, steel kickboards, moulded feed buckets, locking tack cupboard, wheel clamp etc ... it was last serviced about two years ago but hasnt been used since apart from moving it around the lockup.
Any advice (especially from ROG) on what to look at when we go to see it??
