Hi Guys... Has anyone had any experience of ROBERTSON HORSE-TRANSPORT nr Doncaster? I'm looking to transport a horse from sussex to nottinghamshire. The quote I have had is quite reasonable, but having never used this type of service before, I am quite nervous!!!! Any feedback would be a help... x

Hi

I used them to transport a yearling from Leicester to Scotland. If you look on their facebook reviews you will see my recommendation. I was very happy with their service and price.

As she was young I didnt want her doing multiple pick ups and staying overnight at a yard. To get an individual service from other transporters was much more expensive than what they charged me.

Good luck

Depends what you want! I personally do not like the 2 box 'bread vans' brigade. They are often seen Whizzing on the motorways doing 80 odd. Horse and Hound all too often have the horror stories of these little bread vans in their news sections.

They are regulated by Trading Standards and are only supposed to work to domestic hours but they never do!

Vosa like them as often these 2 boxes are over weight and impound them and fine the owners.

Go with what YOU feel is right for your horse and budget. If you have done your homework and been on the sites like www.findhorsetransport.org and compared what you are getting then go with your feelings.

Good luck

Hi

If you can look on facebook you will see both positive and negative reviews - covering what foraday says.

Also check out their website and ASK them questions - I certainly asked about the chances of my horse getting in to the back section due to the horror stories I had read.

You pay your money and you take your chances!

Hope it all works out for you!

Thanks guys. Its such a big issue, trusting someone to bring a horse up for you, just sitting in an empty stable waiting for him to arrive (hopefully in one piece) I have checked the company has the relevant insurances... so.... hmmmmmmm scary times!
