Hi, my horse was treated for mites on Friday..but he's still scratching and nawing at his legs..how long does the dectamax take to work..feel so sorry for him.

Usually a week before the first injection makes a difference to itching. You need to empty and disinfect your stable and treat all grooming kit and rugs aswell or you will get them back later in the year...........

I only got him today..and he went straight out into the field. The dealer treated him for the mites with a dectamax injection..and my vet said that we need to follow it up in 10 days time.

I used frontline spray when I found mites on my horses legs, it's not licenced for horses but my vet said if it was... Shed recommend it ;-)
It worked for mine.
