Horse vets near Northallerton?

I've seen a horse I like near Northallerton in Yorkshire, so am looking to get it vetted.

I'm from Scotland so have no idea of the vets round there. Could you recommend some specialist horse vets near there which might do a vetting for me?

I think the 'obvious' vet is the one the owner uses, so if you could recommend more than one that would be helpful.

I use Clevedale, they are based in Guisborough which isn't too far. They specialise in horses and have an excellent reputation locally. They vetted mine for me. THey charge mileage from Guisborough. I think a 5 stage plus 120 mile round trip to my horse was about £250.

There is also Oaklands near Yarm - they are a lot nearer but I have heard some conflicting tales about them. But I am sure they would be fine to do a vetting.

Or you could try Rainbow in Malton, though again it's a way from Northallerton. They ARE the best I know of.

Google them all anyway. THere might be one actually IN Northallerton but those are the ones I have experience of.

I would use DA & DT Wittrick - known them for many, many years, have horses themselves and vetted one for us a long time ago (when I was in Scotland!).

Emson Equine Vets or Castle Vets in Barnard Castle, both very close and very good.
