ok so over the years have been present while many vettings have taken place. But I am a bit puzzled as to why a vet would ask for the horse to be vetted, to be kept in a dark stable for 3 hours prior to the vetting??????? can anybody enlighten me.

To check their eyes? the vet when vetting shadow also asked for shadow to hve been in a dark stable 1 hour before hand- but three hours is very very extreme.......i could not suggest why that might be. I was told so the eyes were fully adjusted to the dark, and also so he could see what would happen when horse released into the light

seems a bit extreme to me also. didn't think it took that long for horses eyes to adjust. Horse has given no indications to having eye problems, and vet has never seen horse before ??
