If someone has advertised themselves as a private vendor, but a google search shows they sell a few horses (same stamp) a year on varying sites, would you still view?

Ads I found showed different reasons for selling each horse.

If I liked the horse , it passed the vetting , and behaved as I expected , yes. Doesn't have to be dodgey just cos they deal a little bit or but to sell on , they may just have ticked private as they don't offer full dealed facilities , part ex etc. Usually you only get to choose private or dealer there is no inbetween on these sites. Also genuine private sellers can tell you a complete pack of lies so have a look and go with what your heart says.

Personally I'd be a bit suspicious and tread carefully.

An old YO of mine buys ponies from the sales, keeps them for a matter of weeks or months then sells them as a 'private' sale making out that they are much loved but sadly outgrown kids ponies who have been there, done that and got the T-Shirt which isn't true. Even if the 'lies' told turn out to be harmless, why do it unless you've got something to hide?

Pretty much what Ziggy said...
It might well be a nice horse and I wouldnt discount it straight away, but I would want to be quite careful - If they are selling several horses a year they must be making a trade from it, and should really be advertising as trade I would have thought?

No, I wouldn't bother viewing. There are good and bad dealers, and its hard enough to sort out which is which, so even little deceitful clues like that are enough to stay well away.

There is a quota of horses you have to sell a year, that means you have to declare yourself as a dealer... if they are that small time that they aren't technically a dealer, it possibly wouldn't bother me.

Are you sure it is a dealer? Plenty of people who aren't dealers might have a few horses up for sale at the same time for genuine reasons.

I'm definitely NOT a dealer but I've a mare for sale (that I bought to bring on and sell) and also another gelding that again I was contemplating selling for other reasons. I have a number of horses, and only one of them is 'for keeps', if I ran into money/family/other problems etc I could advertise them all tomorrow in a heartbeart (except for the one that has a home for life!) doesn't make me a dealer though.

My friend has just sold two of her ponies, one of which she had professionally produced and both were advertised at the same time... if someone googled her number it may well have looked like a dealer. Again, she just decided she had to cut down.
