Horse vs sleeping baby! Lucky escape!

My pony escaped at that very same show (not this year though) and nearly mashed a toddler in a pushchair.
At least this lady's horse didn't race off up the hill at the side of the showground. Then race back down and rampage round the lorry park. If I could do a red-faced smiley I would.

It was a scary moment I agree. Unlike the article states, it looks very much like the horse had spotted the obstacles and slammed on the anchor, shooting the rider out of the front door.

But I do wish the Daily Hate wouldn't publish this stuff without printing the facts. Gah. They just do it to incite hatred. You watch, the anti-riders on the road brigade and the anti-hunting brigade will pile in now. Blooming sensationalists. How did it become news? No one was hurt. And where were the child's parents? Did they run off on seeing half a tonne of animal hurtling towards them?

I agree the Daily Mail does publish a load of tosh, and fabricates a LOT of info! But the story itself is shocking! and yes - the question is - where were the parents?!

I like how it claims the horse was rearing a kicking out just inches from the toddler, but I don't see any pictures of that...

I was at the show and saw the incident, the horse did not bolt. The rider was competing against another rider in the scurry jumping . The riders were finishing their runs by passing through bollards in the middle of the arena ,obviously at speed. This rider had to make a right handed turn at top of arena to slow down but was struggling to make turn as had been going fast and also ground was hard and therefore slippery . Made the turn but sort of ran out of room and rider came out side door landing on car bonnet.the horse was fine and just stood there whilst rider was being helped up. Luckily no one was hurt ,but it did not happen as described in article.

Please go and post this on the Daily Fail page - I love correcting them and make it my mission to do so as frequently as possible. They have seen fit not to print my last comment because it went something along the lines of 'Once again, DM, you have failed to gather the facts...' and a little lecture on horses not throwing their riders as a rule. I may also have mentioned that certain rally cars have 'thrown' their tyres into the crowd with far more devastating consequences. Oh, and I may have mentioned that DM publish these articles simply to incite hatred.

If I was the rider, i'd be furious at this article!!

That doesn't surprise me that it didn't happen as said article! As I said - fabricated!

Parents want shooting for parking a buggy with a baby in it that close to the action. B****y irresponsible at best, it never fails up amaze me how downright stupid some parents can be!!! Well done that rider for doing her best to avoid / protect the child, hope she didn't suffer any major injuries.

Terrible Journalism as ever from the Fail...and as for some of the bigoted comments under the article, it seems they have incited the knuckle dragging, uneducated morons who believe everything they read out from under their rocks.....talk of banning horses?? HOW RIDICULOUS!!!!

This. Especially parking the child THERE, why not BEHIND the 4x4 or something where at least its not right in the way and also WHY park a child there where people are clearly galloping through a finishline facing that exact direction... Stupidity. Problem is at these sorts of "family days out", you get a lot of non horsey people who really have no clue about these things. I've had a youngster come inches from kicking a toddler in the head a few years ago at a county show - because the stupid mother rammed the pram up his backside!! Shame the child has such stupid parents :(
