As title really! I am horsebox shopping at the moment (selling current and buying newer one )so would like to get an idea amount people spend!

What is your horsebox like (weight, stalled for, living, age etc) and how much did it cost you when you bought it?

Gosh not easy as I got mine about 8 years ago, it was originally and E reg 7.5t Renault commando
2 horse with large living, which I swapped my shogun and trailer for. It needed a respray and new power steering ram (£1000) we did respray ourselves

In the 7 years after this I spent about £1000 on repairs in total

In December 2010 I put a newer R reg Daf 45 chassis on it.

I had put it up for sale for £5000 in a couple of places as I have just had more surgery on my ankle. Not sure whether I will sell it now as I do love it

I've just purchased the following ...

7.5T N reg Iveco, 350K on clock. Relatively compact, stalled for 2 large horses or 3 ponies.
It has a decent sized clean but basic day living with bed over luton, seating, tables, hob, tv point. There is an external double tack locker (into human living) and skirt lockers. It has a hydrolic ramp too. Bodywork has the odd dink and patch of surface rust. Box was built by PRB so well designed/constructed - was an expensive box in it's day, now looking a little tired.

I bought it for 5K quick cash sale, knowing it needed a further 1K spent for new floor and brake pipes. And think I may have got a bargin. Plan is to run it for a bit and then tart it up externally.
