Does anyone know anything about these - we want to buy one and would like feedback if possible on different makes and problems, good points on the makes. So far we have only managed to find details on Claydon exercisers. Does anyone know any other manufacturers?

And any chance anyone is selling one - or knows of one for sale

Monarch do them, Just make sure they are sturdy. The arms on ours have bent over the years from horses sitting on them etc

We have had two accidents in as many weeks on the walker at the yard where we keep the horses. First time one slipped over, got stuck, walker still going around. Crashed into next horse, who fell over and got stuck.
Both horses hopping lame, one is never allowed on the walker again incase it happens.

Second time, far more serious.
Horse infront slipped, but not over. Spooked next one, who fell over, leg went through a gap in the bottom of the walker where there is no rubber matting, and the metal 'cage' has lifted out of the concrete it sits in. Leg gouged open on metal, serious 4 inch long gash, and very deep.
We got him off, blood everywhere. Seriously deep, and has just nicked a ligament. It is just on the inside of his hind fetlock, and therefore it is not healing very well and although it is bandaged up seriously, it doesnt want to heal.
Infection set in, all pussy and gross. Stronger course of AB's seemed to do the trick.
Now, a month later he is obv still on box rest and will be for quite some time. Gash slowly healing, but the final outcome is still unclear.

The walker has now been mended, but I cant believe it had to have such a horrific injury for it to happen.
I used to love them, now Im not so sure . . .
