Horse weeing drinking and sweating more?

Hi,

My horse has started drinking more than normal, he has a larger bucket in his stable which he never finishes and for about 5 days he is drinking the lot, i put another smaller bucket in for him just to give him extra and he is finishing that to, also he seems to be alot wetter when mucking his stable out and weeing more, when i bought him in from the field last night he was in his stable for no longer that 5 mins and he did two wees while i was in stable doing rugs, he has also so started sweating in his rugs.
He is a 12year old thoroughbred gelding, and sometimes shyt were he wees, sometimes holds it for a while so not being watched.

Any ideas if this could be the start of something?

I would be wonderiing about cushings, my last horse did this for quite a while before any other symtons appeared.

It could be cushions or an infection if i was you i would try and get a water sample and get your vet to test for anything

Could he be too hot in his rugs? If he is drinking more he will wee more. Some sort of infection is another thing to consider.

Seems young for Cushings - I'd be more inclined to think infection. Have you taken his temp? Is he eating normally? Does he seem lsitless?

Sounds like an infection of some sort, or a kidney probem.
Is he OK to groom, tack up and ride?
