My mare wee's the in lorry everytime we go out, I have tried with and without shavings, but it makes no difference,

She did not do this in the trailer - any ideas to stop / reduce it?

I can offer dark chocolate with chilli and a black coffee?

my mare wee's everytime she is loaded, to be honest I'm glad she does it as there is no chance of her weeing while at a show and I just think she must get very uncomfortable otherwise.

Lots of shavings help though!

I'd rather that my horse felt relaxed enough to have a wee before they competed - if that means they dirty the wagon, so be it.

Having said that, years ago I had a friend who taught his horses to wee on command into a bucket - he definitely rode mares, I don't know how he did it though!

My mare does it every single time I load her. I also have a gelding that won't pee when he's out, even if he's desperate and it can really affect his performance, so I'd much rather they wee than held on to it!!

Mine almost always wees when I put her in the lorry on the way home (sometimes on the way out too!). Shavings soak it up and stops it running into places you don't want it (like the living compartment - ugh) and Chestfields do a Horsebox and Trailer Wash which is meant to help stop the corrosion (and takes away the smell!). I agree I'd rather she felt she could wee in the lorry than save it up, although when she's been tied up outside for 1/2 hour first it's a bit annoying - I think she's too shy to wee in public :)

My gelding used to pee in the horsebox everytime out, would pee anywhere including concrete and even filled up my grooming kit box once : )

I have the opposite problem:

1) i have a gelding:p
2) he does not wee in the trailer or lorry!

He comes home and has wee dripping but still won't pee until he is in his stable!

However, at a couple of shows last year he started wee'ing between the SJ and XC phases and always when I was on his back  I still whistle everytime I see him to try and get him trained but alas it's not working!

If I lead him round long grass, whistling or walk him near another horse that is weeing he does not do anything.

I would rather he pee'd every time I loaded him tbh

I wish mine would. He used to, then got shy so hangs on until he's is home. His travelling chum always pees but he absolutely refuses to. I use shredded cardboard in the trailer, which soaks up really well.

My livery's horse used to pee as soon as he was loaded, and she would just pop in with a bucket and he would pee into that.
