hi
i have just got a 14h cob x trotter ,he is more trotter than cob not at all chunky more lean build but what i wanted to know was how much they usually weigh at 14h and 14.2h as he will make that
thank you

I'd say very roughly about 300-400 kg, but what's more important is the body score, which is determined by the horse's appearance (amount of fat and where is the fat located).
Here is more info:
http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/livestock/horses/facts/98-101.htm
but you can find a ton of info if you google "horse body score" or "horse condition score".

You can buy a weight tape too, that will give you an idea of how much your horse weight (but is not as precise as a proper scale).

Anywhere between 350-450kg depending on build and bone. I have a skinny Conny thats 362. and a friend as a overweight conny that was 472:eek

DOn't be deceived by what other people's horses weigh...as your horse may have a higher or lower bone density/bigger or smaller head, so make sure you compare weight to a horse which is the same breed as yours....i would say, from things ive read, that 350-450 would be ok, but make sure you check it's body condition score.

sorry i dont have any pictures yet

thanks for the info up to now guys its a great help

just thought i would add he is a 3 year old if that makes any difference
