I'm weighing out my options for what I want to do after college and i'm thinking of wanting to be a riding instructor or a horse welfare officer/inspector.

I can't find anything online to help me with becoming a horse welfare inspector. Can anyone help me just find the facts about the job? Taar :D

You can do both. If you become a riding instructor it will help immensely with the other job; giving you lots of experience with different types of horses and importantly people too. Also waiting before you become the inspector will mean you are that bit older and thats all to the good;giving you a better air of authority.Good Luck with whatever you choose.

If you want to be an instuctor it would arguably be a better use of your time to become a working pupil at a yard near you and do your BHS stages / PTT etc instead of college. Probablly more beneficial for being a horse wellfare officer as well as this will be even more time spent in a public work enviroment with different types of horses and (more difficult!) different types of people ....
Good luck!
