Fly is a complex horse. He comes to call one day or else turns his rear end on you, although he is too well bred to follow it through! He is a 'snake' in the stable, lunging at you everytime you walk past and snapping like a turtle. He never connects though. Actually, he did once (by accident) and was as shocked as I was! He is very vocal and likes to deposit the contents of his bowel whilst stationary when the bell goes off as we are about to sj, very embarrassing. I wouldn't change him for the world though, as he can also be so loving. Who else has a horse with a big personality?

Whisky has a massive persomality. I bought him from Germany and went over for a weeks training on him before he came to the UK. He was lovely b ut I said to OH he has nothing about him. How wrong was I!!
He has no patience and way too much to say for himself. Rugging up or putting on headcollars involves a prolonged tug of war with buckles and straps. He will pretend he is going to nip you, testing the waters nad getting closer and closer to an actual nip 'til he gets a final warning. I am exhausted just getting him ready to turn out......but I loove him. He is teaching me loads about dressage which is why I bought him. He is a sweetie just a very trying one!

All my horses have big personalities!!! That is why I love them!!!!! However my youngster today did take the biscuit. I went to get him in from the field today to ride him. He was laying down as I approached and put a headcollar on. Then instead of getting up he looked at me and just laid flat out and refused to budge. As he did this he properly grinned at me, (i've never seem a horse grin like my one can!)he knew exactly what he was doing! He eventually began to get up, but only half sat up like a dog, and just sat and looked at me (still grinning). We did eventually manage to get him in, but I was PMSL!!!!!!!!! I feel he lives up to his name Colin quite well!!!!!!!!

What about personality "change?" I've had my Selle Francais for over 6 years and he was here at the farm two before I bought him. I have been working him more(so feeding him more,) and he has undergone a total transformation and looks tremendous!

But.... he's turning into some Macho-Idiot! He actually took a large bite out of me the other morning when I dared to scratch him between the forelegs while he was eating. He's never been difficult when feeding and he lives outside 24/7(with shelters, rugs, etc.)

And he's 13 years old! Some friends have said to cut back down on the protein. Now, while saddling and even riding him, I am a bit leary of him. Must get over this soon.

I like physically where he's going so I guess I am just going to have to be up to it or sell him. He is certainly full of himself these days!

charliemouse - you made me laugh with that he sounds really really cheeky, love it!!

Minnie is a little pony but with a HUGE personality she is so full of beans and is very vocal at dinner time and 1st thing in morning I always get shouted at by her as if to say 'where on earth have you been?'
She's much fun to be around and would not swap her for the world shes a true babe in my eyes anyway and always makes me smile

candy has bags of personality. He can be naughty by lunging over the door threatening to bite but if you follow this up with a rub and laugh at him he scowls at you as if to say damn why wasn't you scared. If he decides its dinner time he will pick up his rubber feed bowl and throw it over the stable door at you and then nicker away demanding food.He also likes to hold his brushes and brush the wall while he is groomed or to take a hold of the headcollar when you go to put it on him and refuse to let go. He also undoes his leadrope or other horses if they are near enough for him to reach. The most embarrassing was when he grabbed the farriers apron and removed it while he was being shod. You can see the cheeky glint in his eye when he has done something that makes people laugh. If he were human he would without doubt be a comedian like Lee Evans.

Yes, my Incarna throws the feeding dish(that he's pulled out of the old tire they're stuck into,) over the fence onto the lawn in front of the kitchen door!

My other horse will often join him and do a tug of war with the damn things as well! Go through about 3 per year that way...

Yes, Cappy can be a big personality. He has been known to throw a wheelbarrow at a groom he did not like at our old yard. He will grab your hat off your head and dunk it in his water feeder. Take a mouth full of water and spray it all over you. When he was part of a Tellington Touch, he got rather bored so picked Elizabeth up by her hood and swung her from side to side. He will try to bring himself in by taking the end of the lead rope and walking off with it. He can open his door and has in the past let all the other horses on the yard out! Cappy is a b*gger if you wear a hoody and he thinks you should not leave, he grabs the hood and drags you back. When he thinks it is time to come in he starts his hoof at the top of the metal gate and drags it down until you bring him in.
He can untie any haynet, can work out problems and is incredibly intelligent with a lower boredom threshold than a teenager!

The Spooky Pony has a very distinct personality. He makes his opinions of things around him very very clear, usually by dramatic overreactions to, well, spooky things. He's also a super-friendly little guy, and (unless he's scared of you), will immediately approach people and try to search them for treats. He loves nibbling and tugging on all sorts of things, especially knots in leadropes, his bit, velcro, toggles, and zippers. Oh, and the hoof trimmer's T-shirts.

yup. 16.2 ISH with the mentality of a very small pony. Yells for slaves to get him in after only being out for a couple of hours, will throw feed buckets at passing unwary people. Has to ALWAYS put anything dangling in his mouth (pain when tacking up as always have to keep an eye out for reins/throat lashes disappearing down his throat). Has a chain on his lead rope because he likes to hold it in his mouth when coming in. Pulls the most awful faces when you go into his stable then goes soppy when cuddled or scratched. Extremely vocal at all times and is always happy to let you know how he is feeling...
