whats the best treatment for a horse which has tenderness in her back just behind the saddle area.
Recently brought her old owners used a saddle that bridged on her. Now I've had her a new saddle fitted. and just to make sure after that it was a good fit got another saddle fitter to look and that was thumbs up. Physio also looked couple of vertabrates in spasms but nothing to bad.
the tenderness is in the muscle which u can feel is a bit more harder than it should b. any thing that can be put on it etc to make it easier for her
vet says leave b it will settle

I use a sheepskin half pad with a numnah under it for a horse that gets tender behind the withers. (He'd be less tender if he would relax once in a while!)

Also I have an equilibrium magnetic under rug that he has on occassionally to help the blood flow and relaxation. Have you tried massaging him, and carrot stretches before you get on to help the top muscles stretch with no pressure from you?

for massaging use a tumble dryer ball and roll it with some pressure over her back for 10 mins on both sides every day. She'll relax soon enough!

The osteopath and saddler are happy with everything else, this works for us!!
