Horse with hayfever!

Has anyone used Feedmarks Clarity or any other supplement for pollen affected horses? My pony does seem to be affected by the pollen this time of year and I have a bit of headshaking and runny eyes. I have hayfever so I am guessing this is what’s going on. In the winter the symptoms completely go. A nose net helps but just wondering what else I could do to help him.

Edited to add: it’s the horse that head shakes and has runny eyes; not me 🤣🤣🤣
 
Over the past 13 years, I think I have tried everything available. Steroids are an absolute last resort when he is going into an asthma attack. I have had good results from Loratadine hay fever tablets, and he has just started back on 10mg per 100kg bodyweight once daily. One of the yard ladies is a reiki master, and has given him a healing session for the past two summers, yeah, it is a bit woowoo, but seeing your lovely horse fighting for breath means you will try anything. Something is helping, because he hasn't had a bad episode since 2022 - reiki session booked for today!

I would try anti-histamines I think, I just started trying them for my mare with sweet itch, just to see, and they're cheap to bulk buy.
 
With the dog we could only use Piriton as everything else was poisonous to dogs. Is it the same for horses? Genuine question as I have a horse with hayfever/asthma and have just been trying a nebuliser which has not gone down well and have always been cautious of antihistamines because of the dog.

I found ceterizine better than piriton for mine with sweet itch. 15 twice a day.
 
Yes, this year it’s affecting him really badly. Vet has advised 15 antihistamines morning and evening on high pollen count days (using cetrizine as piriton makes him drowsy) he is also currently on Equine America Airways Xtra strength supplement and now has his hay steamed too. Since starting the antihistamines he has been a lot better and there is no discharge from his eyes or nose any more. I have read that this year is a particular bad year for it - something to do with the rape seed.
 
Pollen x was brilliant when the rape fields really affected my horse one year . Head shaking was awful , Vet wanted to use steroids as he was so bad
