I've received this today from the Warwickshire Police.
A member of Horsewatch has made us aware that sometime during the night of Tuesday 27 into Wednesday 28 June offenders harmed her horse whilst it was in a field in Lighthorne Heath.
The offenders approached the horse and appear to have used a bladed instrument to inflict a 5 inch long cut in her vagina/ vulva area. The vet who stitched the horse up says that, in his opinion, the damage was not accidental and is the result of a knife wound.
Please could we ask you all to be actively on the alert for suspicious persons or activity around your horses or the areas in which they are stabled and kept and to report anything unusual or of concern to police. Thankyou.
