Hi,
Any advice on this please:
I noticed my horse had a swollen eye on Weds morning, just looked like the bottom eyelid...there wasnt any discharge and the eye was dry so I left it....she was holding it closed, but as soon as she went out she opened it and it all looked good, by the time I bought her in,in the evening it looked fine.
But next morning, same thing - swollen again and same in the evening, back down.
Fri the vet was out anyway for jabs...so he took a look and put the dye thing in her eye...he couldnt find anything and the eye wasnt scratched or anything, so thought she may have just bashed it...
that evening it was weeping a little, clear tears...I just put it down to the dye going in...
Anyway, this morning, really swollen again and she could hardly open it...but again, once she went out she opened it OK but the swelling is still there, lower eyelid and now it's weeping quite a lot, less clear a little whiteish (tho thats not really unusual, she does tend to get weepy eyes)...
So tonight, I put some golden eye ointment in the eye and gave bute....
I'm torn whether to get the vet again, seeing as I only had them on Fri...I dont want another call out for nothing, but on the other side - I know eyes are dodgy to leave alone.
Does anyone have experience of how long an eye can take to recover or whether I get the vet again 2m...
Thanks
George
