Does anyone use horseboots on a regular basis instead of shoes? if so what sort ? Thinking of getting some for my youngster as she is not ridden often but does need something.
Thanks.
I am just about to take the plunge with a pair of Old Macs as my arthritic horse can no longer be shod. She is fine in the arena and on smooth surfaces but our bridlepath is very stony and her front feet get bruised. I'll let you know how we get on, I'm rather nervous about it myself!
I also just got Easyboot Gloves for my pony. I won't use them all the time, but if I'm anticipating really rough going, I'll put them on. I like how easy they are to put on.
I have been using Easyboot Epics for just over 18 months now - and one boot has now just worn a little hole in the toe - so I will be replacing them.
I do nearly all road work - very little off road - and my mares feet were just wearing out too quickly. It took me a while to get to grips with putting them on to start with - but now it it only a couple of minutes - and doesn't really take me any longer than anyone else to tack up.
I tried using Old macs before - but they just didn't suit my horse feet.
I would definitely recommend the easy boots to anyone
