I took my lorry to the garage Wednesday to be given a once over as its new to me, told him there was no rush and havent heard anything since so am presuming hes not looked at it yet. It has an isolator on it but I never mentioned it as its a small yard and the lorry will most likely be moved daily to make room for others and its a pain to keep doing, also I thought it would be ok for a couple of days not isolated. I dont want to look completely stupid by ringing him worrying about flat batteries but I thought he'd only have it a couple of days as I know space is a problem.
How long will it be ok for with the battery not isolated?

Probably depends whether you have anything which drains the battery when the lorry is parked up. If the isolater is just a cut off security device then shouldn't be a problem.

Hi its an Iveco, has just had 2 new batteries put on it by the previous owner, who stressed, use the isolator, so I presume they didnt!!
I dont think anything other than the tacho could be running off the battery.
Thanks for replying :)

Yes think the tacho used to drain my old Iveco's battery. But that said we put an isolator on, used it, then the switch had a problem so we didn't use it for a while and it was no problem.

I always turn mine off overnight but if we are out at a day show dont bother. Once you have found lorry battery flat when you are in a hurry to get to show or something you end up checking and checing again to make sure that you have switched it off lol :)

Thanks
I just dont want to look like a mithering worrier if I ring him but suppose if I dont hear anything by tomorrow afternoon I will have too just incase :)

Louby, somitimes I think we have got you near to understanding trucks ,but then I despair. . It aint going tpo go flat . What do you think happens with commercial lorrys. and anyway they are a garage ,they know what to do. RANT RANT RANT,

Louby - hope that didn't sound harsh, wasn't meant to me. I am the worst of worse worriers about such things having had a lorry that didn't like starting.
