Would love a diesel heater but havent got time or money to get one fitted before we need to sleep in horsebox.
Would our generator work an electric heater. We have a gas heater fitted in an old caravan that we have. Could we transfer that and how would we flue it

Your generator may work a heater in your horsebox it depends on the wattage. Heaters are normally a fairly high wattage & so you would need quite a powerful generator to power it. Additionally with the heater having quite a drain on your generator your generator would probably be working overtime to power it & so would be working hard & reving high. If you had this on overnight I don't think you'd have a friend left on the lorry park after giving everyone a sleepless night! ;)

You could have a gas heater fitted, there is no difference having one in a cravan to having one in a lorry, but you would need a qualified gas fitter to fit it for you. If it was not fitted correctly & the fumes could build up in the horsebox & prove fatal.

I have a Tristar horsebox & have considered fitting heating but decided for a variety of reasons not to do it. I decided that I won't stay over at winter shows so I don't really need it. I have a portable gas heater that I sometimes use in the day (with windows open for ventilation) but I wouldn't use that at night....potentially too dangerous.
