Hi all Hopefully someone can help. (also in comp. riders)
I broke my leg on Sunday and surgeon said I should expect to be out of the saddle for 6 months. I have arranged for pony to go to pro yard but not sure what to do with my lorry. If I advertise it for hire/lease do I have to arrange special insurance or just put the name of the person leasing it on the policy what other legal requirements are there also where is best place to advertise it ?(I am Cheshire) Is there a market for hiring lorries or would I be better to sell it ? Don't remember seeing any for hire in H&H ! Thanks for any help

i think you will have to be careful as it will then be used for hire and reward. it would be best to sell it if you hire/lease it who is responsible for repairs etc

As well as the self hire special insurance which is expensive you will need your lorry certification from DEFRA by one of the 3 inspection companies. EFSIS, CMI and FTA do the inspecting.

You will need a good solictor to go through a good contract that the hirer will need to sign etc. Also be ready for it to come back damaged most of the time!

You also need to change your recovery breakdown to commercial also.
