Looking at buying a horsebox for my 17.1hh IDx i think i need the height to be above 7'6" but what about the width? i have had him in a DAF without herring bone or telescopic partitions, but he was squashed. i have spoken to a guy with a Bedford AWD - TL 8-14 with prestige body this has fixed partitions, do you think my boy would fit???

Horseboxes vary in width up to 8ft (legal width limit). Does your horse fit in and ifor Williams 510? The 510 internal measurements are Height 2.26m and length 3.52m so that should give you some idea as to how much room he needs.

Just had one built at 8ft high and 8 ft wide if that helps.

When I was looking 7ft 6" is a common size, but many are really 7ft 3" when padded out so are too short especially if you have lockers to climb on!

I had the container made and put on a flat deck for my 17.2 ID x TB and the height is 7.10 which is more than usual - as stated they are usually 7.6 - the extra height keeps the wagon cooler
