Anyone else ever done this?

After taking Arch on Saturday, we were SOOOOO hungry (11.30am!!) Couldnt find a greasy spoon, so decided Mac Donalds was the only wya forwards.
When we got there, there was a height restrictor at the entrance to the drive through of about 10 foot, there wasbnt enough room to turn back round, so we went for it (thinking, theres no way my trailer is higher than 10 foot!!!!!) BUT, it was!!! LUCKELY the height restrictor was on chains, so it dragged nicely along the top of my trailer!

Got through that bit, then had to get round the corner to the order point, just about did that! Ordered, then they told me to park up as our food would be a few minutes, I pointed to the load behind me and said "I cant park that can I!!" She looked out the window and replied "Blimey, thats big!!"

Annywho, aftermuch drama we got our food and some how managed to get the hell out of there. Me thinking the whoel time "This really isnt the brightest thing Ive ever done" BUT "When Im hungry, NOTHING gets in my way"!

Anyone else ever done something this daft then!?

Yes I have done this on several occasions whilst competing at a show centre in Worcester. Equestrian Centre food being the price it is I thought it would be cheaper to have the poundsaver menu from Maccy D's although I hasten to add i did not drive through the drive thru - although I did park up in the Maccy D's car park and dashed through the door. I have also parked my trailer in a shopping centre car park, a petrol station, and the most unusual place to park must have been at the motorway service station on the way to Milton Keynes 3DE when I had cramp and had to have a walk. I opened my jockey door of my trailer to let Bailey have some air and loads of kids on a school trip came over and was stroking his face and giving him mints through the door. He was in 7th heaven and it meant I could go to the loo in peace!

My mum thought our lorry fitted under a bridge near our old yard... it would have had she driven through the middle (it was an arched bridge)... sadly she drove through it on her side of the road and almost took the top off the lorry...
Similar she took the guttering off the side of a stable block when driving past it. Apparently it's because our lorry is small and therefore drives like a car and so she forgets how tall it is!

Having been away competing for the weekend, we were driving to the ferry and needed some petrol (two trailers in convoy - one a HB510 and the other an old Equitrek) anyway we go down a dip to the forecourt - and the top of the Ifor drags through the chain height bit - nothing to bad just a bit of noise - its at this point we realise the garage is actually shut!!

Equitrek comes through and takes off half of the white stuff that lines the underneath of forecourt roofs. I have never laughed so much in all my life - we were all in tears (once we knew the horses weren't bothered) - what was worse was there was no one at the garage to tell and leave details etc.

We got down to the harbour and were still picking off bits of white plastic from the top of the trailer - all still in tears (and yes we are all so mature!)

Yes we have done it, although it was through kfc and there was no heigh restrictions , My hubbie being his comical self ordered the food ... " 2 zinger burger meals please and a bale of hay for the horse "

I was like

The lady at the intercom didnt hear him so told him to come on around, She then asked him what the last thing was and he said with a straight face " bale of hay if you have it "

The lady didnt know where to look , she just laughed .

I don't have a horsebox, but I have hacked through the drive through.

It didn't work, my horse wouldn't stand still for long enough for me to hand the money over so I had to get off anyway.

as a child we used to hack through the drive thru on the way home from one of the local riding club shows,
i also once had an incident with a hospital 'car port' style thingi at one of the entances, needless to say the light fitting ended up on my lorry roof..... thankfully it was only the entrence to a day patient area, and it was in the evening... lol

Hehe! Made me laugh. We went down to cornwall in September, with George in the trailer. We decided to pull into Tesco in Launceston as we were hungry, staying overnight and had no food with us. We thought the Tesco car park would be fine as it was about 8pm so plenty of parking, and it goes round and round rather than having dead ends... so we thought. My husband turned down a lane which had a dead end and cars everywhere. It was such a struggle to turn round but he did it (with a MASSIVE audience!). So embarrassing, but people in trailers have to eat too

Used to get a lift with my friend, whos car and trailer combined was too long to navigate the drive through, so we pulled up outside and went in.

We also picked up an exmoor pony up in a service station off the M4.

Pub rides obviously!!

My horse has also been to school! My instructor at the time had another client that worked as a teacher, he did a special class where they learnt about horses. The last class of the term ended with a horse coming to school. First time was in a semi rural area, so it didn't look too odd, however second time was an inner city school...haha we got some very strange looks, especially when we set up jumps in the play ground!
