I just need a vague idea pls, our transport problems are ongoing!! OH now considering getting a lorry, but I need some very vague ballpark figures for the following:-
It will be based on a Ford Iveco/poss Ford Cargo partitioned for 2/3 horses with small amount of living, value around £13,000. So sorry its so vague. Drivers will be me and OH, no convictions and years of no claims discounts.
What does it cost to a: insure your box and b: plate it (assuming it needs no work).
Sorry for the vagueness but online searches have proved fruitless and we only need a ballpark figure.

plating is £48 ish l have a ford cargo 3 horse with living, its insured for me only,l have fully comp with full breakdown with nfu it costs me about £340 in total, hope this helps a bit!!

Insrunce with full breakdown cover will be about 300-400
Road tax, 90 per six months
MOT £48 ( but book up in time as it will to VOSA Test centre
Then add on a couple of main services a year.
We budget on £1,000 a year average to keep a lorry taxed, insured and on recovery plan, serviced, MOT'ed and normal repairs, tyres, battery replacments as required.

insurance £350 , road tax £16, diesel £50 every time you go out. you can not assume it wont need work, my first box needed clutch while we had it over £450 box cost £23k . our second box was was 7years old but only been converted 8 months box cost £15k. year later cost over £1300 for plating.
