I am being very nosey and was wondering what you all pay for horsebox insurance, my insurance has gone up £100 from last year to £450 a year with NFU and wondered if this was a little steap or average? Im 27 with three named drivers and anyone over the age of 25 on a 7.5 tonne, Thanks in advance!!!

I was paying over 600 euros a year on my 1992 12t for just 3rd party, not even fire and theft! I dread to think what it will be on new one, they base it on age of chassis. One of the major disadvantages of Belgium v. UK, all insurance is hideously expensive!

£350 for 2 named drivers and I have 3 points.

Includes roadside rescue and emergency stabling onward travel on a 7.5 ton 4 x horse with south essex. I bought the extra rescue cover for peice of mind.

Thank you everyone its a 2000 Mercades Atego, just filled a quote form for shearwater and will try south essex to. Where is that thread on how much lorry's cost. . . .!!!

I think a lot depends on how much you insure it for as well? Mine is £348 with NFU, no named drivers but anyone over 25 can drive it, insured for £25k. Its gone up since last year but was still cheaper than SEIB - who are always shocked that they're not the cheapest when I call.....every year!!

I am 24 so under that magic age of 25 but mine is only £400 with KBIS. That is fully comp and breakdown cover. Couldnt believe how cheap it is! And considerably cheaper than insuring me on my parents 4X4 - seems daft but I'm not complaining :D

Mine was just under £500 with NFU

Any over 25 driver, with breakdown and insured for £28,000

I tried Anthony Evans and SEIB and they were more expensive
