I have my box insured for the amount i paid for it. It had an unfurnished living area when we got it and we are now having the living fitted professionally. Obviously the box will be worth around £4500 more than what we paid for it when its finished so what do you do about the insurance, can you increase its value with receipts for the work??

We had our horsebox's chassis replaced with a newer version, so obviously increasing the value, insurers just accepted our revised figure but noted that in the event of any accident etc the value of the lorry would be the market value that their valuer decides. So may be worth taking lots of photos of the living & keeping the receipts in case of accident in the future.

Still make sure you tell them the value has increased though. It may make no difference to the cost of the insurance but I'd expect that they will pay market value or the sum insured, whichever is the lower figure.
