I am refurbishing my horsebox living and would really appreciate any ideas you might have, especially what you would have on your 'must have' list (suitable for a small box!!!) or ideas of what works for you (with pics if possible!).

The horsebox is a 5.2 tonne for two horses with a small living. The living is about 220cm by 140 cm, currently has a lutton (which can be used for sleeping), small bench with storage underneath, and some space is taken by the tack locker (but I don't want to move that as I want to keep the horse area clear and safe).

Loo and shower ,hob and fridge , heater , tv to keep the non horsey happy,, I guess it depends on what you do with it as to what you want/need I love my remote start generator for shows or camping without hookups and still have the mirowave and a fully charged batery, a hot shower is fantastic for multi day clinics, camps, or shows

I found a loo handy to have but on next lorry will not go to the expense of having one fitted, I will just buy a cassette portaloo to go in the tack locker/shower room. Shower I would not bother with, my theory being that if you do stay away most shows have showers anyway (granted not always the best), you would also need to take into account cost of fitting hot water heater and the weight of the water you carry.

I did think I would like a fridge but they add quite a bit of weight to lorry and TBH I decided it would end up being a gloryfied cupboard if I had one, instead I bought a cool box that ran off the cigarette lighter, cheaper, lighter and also useable for picnics without the horses!

Not sure I will bother with a matching table with smart chrome legs next time, it just got in the way, I will probably have a folding picnic table stored in the tack/loo room, that way it can be used inside or out.

Thanks guys!

I think the loo/shower is out, unless I want to do without the horse space! There is space to sleep in the lutton, plus a seating area with storage underneath so I might add some more storage and just freshen it all up.
