For my birthday my dad has said I can have the living in my lorry upgraded. Would like a new sink and hob, new kitchen surface and the cupboard doors to be re-done. . The lorry also needs re-sealing in the living as it leaks in certain places

Does anyone know anywhere in the Hertfordshire area that might be able to do this for us? Or if not anywhere I can buy the hob/sink etc. and then get my dad to fit it??

You will be able to buy the hob, fridge... everything... from a caravan dealer. They will be able to fit it for you. There is no difference between a horse box living and a motor home!

If you want to save money, and get something else for your birthday present you could get an old caravan and strip the fittings(many are free) and do a DIY job on getting it all fitted. Youwill only need a gas man to check your burners to be on the safe side.

If you have a static caravan park nearby, ask them if they are scrapping any caravans. Lots of them have a rule that says that vans over 10 years old can't be on the site, so they are scrapped. This is a good source of cheap or free fittings for horse box living. They tend to scrap the old caravans in the winter (off season) so this is the right time of year to be asking round.

I got a lovely static caravan which my groom lived in whilst the anex was done up. It was free. Once the anex was ready we took the fittings out and put them in the wagon. Now the caravan is a common room for the liveries.

I've recently done mine from scratch, got the carpet for walls and lino from local shop on offer
Bought the hob, sink, tap and pump from ebay - worth watching out and waiting for a bargain

Units and worktop from B&Q
Blinds from Argos
Curtains and Seat covers from Soapers - v.cheap!
Table - Kevin Parker Horseboxes (they fitted it too)
Its an expensive job getting these livings done!

Highbury Horseboxes in Dagnall do ours, we just had plugs for telly etc fitted. They're not cheap but very good and they do Tim Stockdales as well
