we broke down late friday night on the motorway, about 50 miles from home in our 7.5 t horsebox. we were towed home at 3.30am in the morning by a commercial recovery firm arranged by the police. was just wondering if anyone had any idea of how much the bill might be. thankfully there was no horse on board. many thanks.

Had to have mine towed back to stables from 20 miles away, this was 5/6 years ago and was £450

............I hope it isnt

I am a traffic cop and the commercial recovery firm we use charges £2500 for its biggest recovery wagon just to leave the yard!! They use this beast for anything over 7.5tonne up to a fully laiden arctic.

Sorry to say but I would imagine you would be looking towards 4 figures but the company may be kind and hopefully it won't be too much.

many thanks everybody. rang up earlier £260+vat. thank heavens could have been a lot worse by the sounds of it. wont forget breakdown insurance again!
