Why cant people be honest. I posted on here about a week ago as seen an older horsebox with about an hour to go and was so tempted (yes I know I have just sold mine cos Im not using it :D:D) but obviously couldnt view it as no time left. It was built by a respected company and was for its age immaculate. I emailed them asking mileage etc and they said they couldnt fit there massive horse in it, width wise, so had to sell, this was one of my questions as with tack locker it wasnt very wide. Thankfully common sense took over and I decided against it. Well its up again, reason for sale due to ill health??, also this time says speedo doesnt work , I did ask mileage and the speedo wasnt mentioned and now says relisted due to timewaster.
I hope it isnt a H &H members wagon, sorry if it is but just felt like a moan.

Is it your name he's using as that of the timewaster? Did you actually bid on it?

If yes then I'd be fairly cross, otherwise why are you worried, someone bid on it and didn't come up with the money, how do you know it isn't being sold through ill health?

I think the reason she is moaning is that they said they were selling because horse didn't fit...now saying it is due to ill health, and they didn't mention the speedo to her when she called, so if she had gone to see it it would have been annoying to find out on arrival!

Bit silly to change the reason for selling too, as there will be many who have seen the ad before who quite possibly would discount it now as they have spotted the alteration too.

i have to say IMHO Ebay not best place to sell/buy lorry (of course there are good folks out there) ............. BUT i do sell on ebay and i'll only put stuff on there that i'm too honest about.

No it wasnt me, I probably would have viewed it if I would have seen it earlier. They may be ill, so sorry to whoever it is if thats the case but they told me their horse wouldnt fit width way and thats why it was for sale.
Maybe the buyer went to pick it up and decided it wasnt as listed????

I wouldn't let this put me off if you are interested in the lorry.

I read somewhere (and I can't for the life of me remember where, may have been on ebay though) that when putting reason for sale on adverts, avoid putting things that the buyer might think could apply to them for example, 'I'm selling this hat because it hurts my head' as even if that was because the hat was the wrong size, the buyer is put off in case the hat hurts their head and would prefer to buy one the same size from a different seller (waffling bad example, but you get my drift?!)

So maybe they read the same bit of advice.....

Re. the speedo not working, maybe they didn't notice?? Or it's just a fuse that's blown??

I wouldn't just assume the worst

Thanks for the replies, the reason for sale wouldnt worry me as like you just said, if they put their horse wont fit, then it would or could put people off.
I did also ask how much it had cost to get through its plate and they didnt know?
OH was put off by speedo incase it had been broke for years, so the mileage stated could be half what it really is??
Maybe it is genuine and its me who has a suspicious mind :D

Im sure there are mosty genuine sellers on ebay ive bought and sold sucessfully and met some great folks,
However i sometimes look at the boxes for sale which range from very nice good buys, to poory made/designed,or worn out scrap over priced death traps!!! its the same with all forms of advertising you realy need your wits about you, ask the right questions and evaluate the answer, yes ive seen ebay listings not sold or sold then relisted a few days later with different script and reasons for selling which make me very suspisious of the seller, pictures can be a giveaway are they poor because the seller is a numpty with a mobile phone instead of a proper camera and or carnt be "bovvereeed" to post a few pictures
or are they hoping you will think it looks ok and bid on a pile of ****.. I woudent worry too much about mileage tacho working or not.. its unlikely to be right on anything older the a couple of years unless there is documetery evidence to prove it..
