So I have decided that if I can sell my trailer and 4x4 then I will move up to a lorry, info I would like is to do with parts and servicing. I'm looking at Daf 45 or equivalent less than 20 years old to take 2 big horses with living (basic) and if anyone can remember what they paid/ how often they had work done for the following I would be very grateful! I know they are all different but just trying to get an idea of maintenance & parts costs long term

Battery
Brake pads/ discs
Clutch cable
New/ repair ramp and floor
Suspension
New tyres - also how long before they need replacing (not based on mileage but rubber breaking down)
Partitions
Rust repairs
Welding
Re-spray
Anything else that often crops up?

Thanks!

Its just cost me £1,500 to put my 3 year lorry on the road this year. Tax and MOT, Service and insurance including break down. There was nothing needed doing in the service just general oil change etc.

You need to watch the weight issue if you are carrying 2 big horses. The law is becoming very hot on this as anyone on here will tell you.
