Hi

Has anyone else had this problem?

Phoned up vosa to book my test for January at local station but can't access January diary for that or any others around as not sure if will have testers in the area! I was advised to take it to one of the new ATF centres which basically means you have to pay the normal VOSA charge PLUS the garage fee, so £93 turns into £159 and this is the same for any retests... doesn't look like we have much choice so basically this is an increase in test fee of about 70%

Yes I had exactly this problem this year, I either had to take it to an approved centre for testing which in our area was an Arriva bus garage or wait for 3 months for an available appointment. We were told that it was because the VOSA test stations are in a state of disrepair and rather than spend ££ on doing them up they are going to use approved centres in the area which then put their own fee on top for use of their pit etc.
