We are NOT planning on selling any time in the near future so not an advert... but how much do you think our lorry would be worth? Our mechanic (who deals with big lorries in thier transport company etc.. said it would be worth £8-10k just because its so mechanically sound, but because of its age i think thats wayyyy too much?

Its a B reg mercedes 7.5tonne done something like 250,000km (not sure in miles). Partitioned for 3, but i dont think you could carry 3 big horses cause of weight restrictions, although happily takes 2. Mums first lorry and its really easy to drive. Massive living with fridge, hob, oven, luton, L seating, sink, with a toilet area (used as tack room) We've had it 4yrs and weve never ever had any major issues, and its very cheap to run.

I like kerilli.. have been wanting to swap for a trailer - just because we dont need anything so big... but i dont think we could afford to buy a 4x4 and trailer with the money from our lorry! So unless you lot think its worth alot more :o i think we'll be sticking with out trusty old steed ;)

My friend recently sold a similar sounding Mercedes lorry, D reg for £4500. It is hard to say though without pictures etc. Their's was mechanically sound, 1 year MOT etc, and had everything overhauled recently, so would run perfectly for foreseeable future. The living was immaculate - they had re-upholstered everything two years ago, and it looked very sleek and moden. It also had a new respray 3 years ago so not too many scratches etc.

Well ... I bought my lorry two months ago. She's an F reg, done 187,000km, 3 pony/2 horse (like yours, I wouldn't want to put three big horses in it!) My living is smaller, has bed, seats, sink, cooker, tack area but no toilet. She's newly plated and mechanically sound -my mechanic said if I didn't buy it he would!

I bought it for £1300 (my mechanic nearly had a heart attack when I told him) and he reckons if I did her up a bit (did a bit more in the living and gave her a paint job - cosmetic stuff - she'd be worth about £4-5K.

Don't know if that helps any?

thought it was a rather amusing pic, cause its a big lorry for 7.5tonne.. however it doesnt look quite so big here ;)

It would not be worth that much I am afraid. We sold our B reg last year for just over £2K. Ok so it wasn't in the best state as had rust on the cab (ford cargo) but the indside was tidy the body and floor was good and it ran fine. To get an idea of what it's worth you're best off looking on the various sites for comparisons. For £8K to £10K though you'd be looking at more a K to N reg wagon realistically. I think you'd be lucky to get near to £5K for a B reg I'm afraid.

Being such a long vehicle it may very well weigh pretty close to 7.5 tons without anything in it and if that is the case then your mechanic is being rather optimistic on it's value.
