I am on the lookout for a small lorry. I have seen one advertised that it is exactly what I want, except it is a petrol engine. Is this really that bad? To be honest most of my trips are very local ie Pony Club & local riding club (which is a 15 min drive) with just one 13.1hh pony, occasionally I might take two. We might do a trip further afield once a year

Many thanks in advance for your help

I ran a 2.0l petrol box for two years. It was a bit thirsty but nothing disastrous and a little underpowered. I changed because I wanted a 7.5 tonne diesel - which is certainly more thirsty that the old 3.5 tonne!

I'd have said if you're not doing masses of miles and you're getting it at the right price and it's exactly what you want in all other respects then don't let the fact that it's petrol put you off.

I had a petrol Bedford CF and it gave me no problems also was not so dramatic if I ran out of petrol, my fuel gauge didn't work, as I'd always carry petrol on board and just top it up and he'd start first time every time.
