Does anyone know roughly how much it would cost to have a proper ramp put on the side of a Renault movano? Thanks in advance

If you want it put on the side then the other side will have to be counterbalanced. Just putting a ramp on will cost at least £1,200.00

I have just had my ramp removed from the back and put onto the side....the present ramp was used (just moved) and the back was panelled up - this cost me £600.

If you are converting a van the other side will not have to be counter balanced, the whole van will have a steel structure run on the inside, a bit like a roll cage in a car if you have ever seen one ;)

Thanks c&c, to be honest I've never heard of a van having to be counter balanced.... My dad converted 4 horse boxes years ago and he never counter balanced anything..... I stand to be corrected on that though. Can I ask who moved your ramp for you?

If its something you (or you know someone handy) can do then there are various companies selling horsebox 'kits' if you have a search on google - a lot of these selling ramp kits for the van type boxes

I think the OP ment a spring counterbalance to make the ramp easy to lift . Your best bet is to ring round the smaller horse box people, there was a company advertising a kit to convert those renault and vauxhall panel vans this was on ebay ....

We have a lady at our yard who sees to peeps horses for them (turning out/bringing in etc), her husband builds, renovates and fixes horseboxes. It is ideal as they only live 2 mins from the yard, pretty much everyone takes their boxes to him from our yard. His name is Dean Plumber. His company is called Dean Plumber Commercials, he is based near Bristol.
