Hi

We have a relatively new lorry (manufacturer is 5hr drive away so not practical) and over the past year the special light weight rubber that is on the wall keeps coming away. It is more like a thin polystyrene rather than rubber to keep the weight down.

We have tried all the different glues from B & Q but no joy as soon as the sun is on the wall it comes away. I need the lorry to use and the rubber protects the wall and makes it waterproof to hose out (not that I have done this so it isn't water that is the problem).

Can anyone recommend an adhesive to use as horse is having a sense of humour breakdown and husband is thinking the whole lorry thing is more trouble than it is worth and it threatening to sell!!!

Thank you in anticipation

Have you tried 'No Nails' in a applicator gun? I use that for everything from sticking mirrors up to wooden horse name plates etc. It has always worked well if you apply plenty and in regular spots ie. not just edges

I would consult someone fro a proper builder's merchant - they are usually pretty knowledgeable and IME stock better stuff than the DIY chain stores. Gripfill would be the first thing I would think of, but if this is not effective, maybe a product like the stuff you use to apply cork tiles - it's a kind of paint-on water-resistant glue, very sticky.

We have similar stuff on ours, same problem. My lovely Dad restuck them with 'no more nails' unibond exterior glue and we've had no more problems :)

contact adhesive is the best way ive found, its a glue where you coat both surfaces. but you need to make sure the wall and the stock board is really clean. also you need to seal along the top as horse waste tends to break the glue down and it falls off.
