Hi guys,
I am going to buy a second hand double horsebox. Pref an ifor williams 505 or similar. I have not bought a second hand box before, so I'm looking for tips/ things to look out for when I go to check out boxes I'm interested in. I will obviously check the lights, ramps etc work. But do boxes have service histories? How will I know if the floor is up to scratch? Should it be changed after a certain amount of time?
What should I be looking out for?

Any help and advice appreciated. Thanks!

The newest and best condition I can possibly get for approx €1,500. I know its not much, but that's the best budget I can manage. That's why I'm worried I'll end up with a banger if I don't look very carefully.

I have one it is about 12 years old and it is in really good condition, the only thing i would say is check the floor as mine was wood and is now starting to rot (as they will do) and it is going in to have new aluminium floor today which is costing £600,

it is a good bargaining tool if they do have a wood floor in it.
The only way to really have a good look at the floor would be to take a screwdriver with you and undo the rubber matting and have a good look and prod with the screwdriver, all the way around the edges
make sure that the jockey wheel is easy to use as they can get stiff if not greased regularly.

some people may have receipts to what work that may have beeen done on it,or any services they have had, but they dont have to have this done by law.

Im looking to upgrade/swap part ex mine to a 510 so if anyone knows of any bargain buys let me know lol
