Good Morning all,

I hope you can help me.

We run a family business, supplying the luxury coach market with Kitchens and Toilet Cubicles. We evolved through coach builders desires to not have a caravan pedal push toilet fixed to wall but instead to have a bespoke product designed for the said market..
Having been involved with horses as a young adolescent, I was exposed to a number of Horseboxes available and have identified a potential market for ourselves.
There are a number of Coach and Bus shows and Boat Shows every year, however I have been un able to identify a Horsebox show.
Does one exist or is there a number of specific shows where manufacturers exhibit as we are keen to become more familiar with the products.

Thanks in advance,

Louis

Maybe advertise in the horse and hound and you could contact the people who advertise lorrys direct I dont think there is a trade show but I woul guess they would visit the CV show at the NEC and some are members of VBRA and they have a magzine..

No trade show sadly.

Most advertise in HH, some do the county shows and major SJ/BE events but sometimes the cost of the stand is a bit excessive!!!

Cheaper alternatives is Tattersalls in Newmarket during sales.

Your Horse Live also is where some Trailer manufacturers go

The best thing to do is to look up the Racing Directories, Thoroughbred Directory as well are good as most of the Horsebox makers will be listed in there and you could contact them direct and encourage them to use your kitchen and toilets in their horseboxes

Good luck

The horse box and horse trailer market is a very segmented market. There are no shows where they all exhibit at in fact only a very small handfull of them exhibit at all and this will be at County Shows or 3 day events and you will only get one or two of them exibiting at the most.

If you wanted a list of the majority of horse box manufacturers then I do have a list of them.

I think you will be up against two things one is cost and the other thing not wishing to appear rude is the coach stuff is a bit industial looking, the low end horsebox builders tend to use off the shelf domestic kitchen stuff and the quality builders use the caravan and motor home parts like the lightweight volringer ply and tops
its all about wood leather and chrome rather than functional grey plastic , I would think there would be a good market demand for someone to fit out living quarters in horse boxes
to a standard and keeping the weight down which is where most go wrong when building lorrys ie filling it with chip board units and work tops from the local diy shed!!! all of a sudden they lose 1000kg +of the payload so a great big lorry can only carry 2 horses max!! so if you could do it with light caravan interiour and give people the wow factor at a fair price go for it..

Dear All,
Thank you for all your comments and I am currently looking at the links provided.
From a weight point of view, non-HGV horseboxes I am sure will become much larger within the industry due to the fact that no additional driving qualification is required.
Coach Toilets and serveries do have a certain look however it is a look which can be changed. Fibreglass has moved on a large amount in recent years with the percieved 'look' of fibreglass no longer applicable.
