Horsebox towing a trailer

Just wondering if you tow a trailer behind your horsebox does the box have to have a side ramp aswell?

Trailers towed by horseboxes are usually low loaders for carriages, or sometimes a caravan.
In an emergency , there would be unhitched and pushed out of the way very quickly.

It used to be very popular for horse boxes to tow caravans (in the days before boxes with living areas), but they very often turned over

I don't know the details as to why so many turned, but it has put me off every doing it.

We have a local riding centre that have many riders who attend Pony Club with school mounts - they always arrive in a truck pulling a trailer.

The horses in the trailer get rather a hard ride thoough - something to do with the suspension of the truck.
