So angry I could cry. The thieves have torn and bent the body work and smashed the tank. And all that was in it was £20 of diesel.
Dont think they would've done it if the fuel cap was unlocked so I think I'll just leave it unlocked next time.
There goes my no claims bonus and my £200 for the excess that was going to pay for my BE membership. Not to mention all my plans for the next few days out of the window as no transort now
At least they didnt touch the horses.

Please be vigilent in the Burton on Trent area. I have also heard they are targetting oil fuel tanks at houses in the area and other horse boxes and lorries.

If anyone has any ideas to prevent this happening again I'd be grateful. Unfortunately I dont live at the yard so it is vulnerable. Also, as no transport was thinking of hiring self drive box or trailer. Any ideas how much I'd expect to pay? Any suggestions where to look around Burton/Derby area? Although I'm told to expect snow again so at least I wont feel quite so bad not riding all weekend if everything is snowed off!

Oh no :( That's awful! Really hope you've reported it to the Police and some how they catch them? (Btw the link to the photos doesn't seem to work).

Sorry I'm not in your area so can't recommend any hire companies, but hopefully someone else on here can help.

Can't help but poor you. Had the fuel pump taken off my old lorry years ago, the bit cost £25 but a lot more to straighten out the bent pipes and have it replaced. Had wasted day off work as well. Makes you so cross.

What b@stards

We had fuel regularly nicked at the last yard but did not have a lockable fuel cap so the lorry was never damaged the police advised to keep it like this. We were going to fit sensor lights, dummy CCTV and signs.

H4H in Preston are very good they do 3.5t to 12t waggons. They are actually the hire arm of Prestige horseboxes. They deliver for a small fee. I used them regularly for 2 seasons and David was really helpful.
