basically im stuck as whether to buy a horsebox or not.

i want to travel to local shows around 2 times a month and my horse isnt happy in a trailer. i have around 1500-2000 to spend and i only have a car lience and im 20 so hireing isnt really an option. i could not go to shows but it would waste the £5000 horse

If you are only going to move one horse then you can hire a 3.5 ton lorry on your driving license. In my area that costs £100/day. If you are not going to compete very often, and mainly only in the summer, hiring is probably your best bet. You could try to buy a 3.5 ton lorry to move your one horse, but to be honest £2000 will not buy much of a lorry.

i doubt you will get a box for that, if you do you run the risk of it never starting, lots of money being spent on repairs ect but you never know bargains come up every now and again :)

I've been looking into this as well. I really think your best option is to go with hiring, as tracey01 said. This will likely cost you around £100 a day but it will include much of the fuel, possibly insurance, and you won't have to worry about depreciation/repairs/MOT/Servicing/Tax etc....

3.5t are so hard to come by that if you get one that's only £2k, you will end up having to shell out a small fortune to keep it roadworthy.

Good luck!
