I've just had the morning from hell at the VOSA garage where both brake lights decided to fail at the garage, having worked the night before. Of course you are not allowed to drive away without brake lights so had a prohibition put on it as well as the fail. Luckily they allowed me to get hold of a mechanic and do repairs at the side of the station. 2 hours later and the faulty cable was located but least I did not have to get it towed home!
Whilst chatting with the inspector he informed me that there are going to be lots of rule changes come January next year. He advises that you can download the book from their website and by the end of January it will have lots of highlights showing changes to comply with European law. Some new things are coming in whilst other regulations are going out. So those of you with lorries due to have their test next spring, beware!
