My old lorry was parked on our stableyard in queninborough leics, all was ok on tues evening but when i arrived at 6am weds it had gone along with my tack, rugs and husbands tools,i called the police who advised me it had been recovered after breaking down and all our things still on board,i have also seen in local paper that another lorry was taken worth about £40,000 with £10,000 worth of tack on board from melton,I was so lucky it had broken down and we had not had it repaired from when it had before.when i went to see it at the recovery yard it made me feel sick to see all my stuff in there,so beware it doesn't matter how old it is they will still try to take it.

Sadly the older lorrys are very easy to steal so any thing that slows a thief down like a chain though the wheel and the battery/s taken off will help the other thing ive seen done is to fit a valve on one of the air tanks, left open when parked up means it wont build up air so the hand brake wont release!! post 2001 most have electronics so without its chip key it is very hard to hotwire, mind then the buggers break in to your house to find the key...

thankyou for advise about postcoding, our lorry had no battery on it and the fuel tank was empty but they came well prepared with a battery and when it was found had a full tank of fuel,we think they must have been before to see what they needed.
