Horsemanship Showcase

I’m hoping to yes (just need to get my arse in gear & book accommodation!). Not booked for evening show as trying to save pennies (& also don’t think anywhere will let me check in late enough).

Has anyone seen an up to date schedule for it anywhere?

i went last year, thought it quite good and very well done. All the men were like extras from Yellowstone and 90% of women were in the Equidry squad with a cob.
It actually makes me cross we can’t manage something similar for eventing as a very good blueprint.

I'm going. Last year we went for one day but the long drive was painful. This year we've booked a BnB and going for the whole weekend. Definitely wrapping up warm this time around.

This made me smile and I agree a 100%, I went on the Sunday last year and was totally frozen. Lots of Yellowstone extras, made we want to find a quarter horse.

I went last year and really enjoyed it - I didn't mind the yellowstone vibes so much but didn't think much of the shopping, not that that's the point of the day of course, and it was bitterly cold so make sure you wrap up!

I believe the Yellowstone vibe might be even more this year, and I have to admit I've joined the equidry squad. I loved being nice and warm and smug watching a clinic outside all this weekend :D
I'm going on the Saturday.

I wanted to go but I’m moving yards again that weekend so not able to plus finances tight at the moment. I’ve been doing connection training with Tracey Duncan who is doing a talk in the education arena on Saturday. I’ve also been watching and following some of Miri Hacketts stuff Patreon and she’s there.

Maybe next year,

I went last year for the weekend and really enjoyed it. It was very cold and on Sunday I started the day with a hot water bottle stuffed down my top!! This year I can’t afford the time or the money so I’m going to buy the streaming option and set myself up in front of the tv with snacks :)

I’d go but last time I looked there was no kind of schedule at all. I’d like to see Phillippe Karl but I’m not paying for a ticket if he might only be on for twenty minutes!
Spoke to someone last weekend who is doing a demo there and they had still not been told what time they were on!

My friend makes lovely western saddle pads & has a stand there, I looked in to taking mine but the pitch fee is £££ & I was unsure how many sales I was likely to make so decided to swerve

I considered doing a stand in the past but agree it's really spendy compared to other shows. If I was still a horse owner it would be the show I'd most want to go to.

I don’t see much parelli?

Warwick - whatever he is now
Ben Atkinson - Liberty
Freddie Steele - stunt rider/problem horses
Lee Rutter - western
Joe Midgley - groundwork
Sean Coleman - not really sure but pretty western

Some chats and demos but it seems a fair balance. Tbh with horses there isn’t much new just recycled and packaged differently. Horses themselves haven’t changed much in hundreds of years, just who owns them and their knowledge now.

I went to Lucy Chester last year about separation anxiety and was pretty disappointed tbh!

Ooh that's interesting. I am trying to arrange some training with Tracey Duncan, which is proving tricky. She's not quite in my area, and doesnt teach at her base at weekends.

I did a three day course with her and my challenging 6yr old and then another couple of sessions one with my older horse. It’s been a game changer for me. Still have lots to learn and I’m sure it won’t be plain sailing but after a year of difficulties I finally feel I’m getting somewhere and enjoying the process. Definitely recommend.
