Horsemart - what type of horse?

I've never advertised on Horsemart before so I wondered if anyone who looks on there regualrly could tell me the type of horse you would look for on there

ie: is it a good makret place for riding club horses, or competition horses or youngstock etc

I have some foals and yearlings to advertise and trying to think of the best value for money. H&H is so expensive and doesn't seem to be generating the calls this year

Is not specialist at all so if looking for high end comp horse I would look elsewhere but lots of people I know have had good success with foals, comp horses & kids ponies.

Horsemart is generating a wider audience all teh time IMO and at the price is worth a shot.

You have some stunning foals for sale, so if they don't sell then there is not much hope for a lot of people.

I would try and advertise one on horsemart at first and see what response you get, at least then it will not cost you much to find out.

I see all types on horsemart, it is usually the lower end of the market, riding club types but certainly not always, my friend bought a lovely young horse advertised there.
if I was buying I would look at all the well known avenues

IMO I would say Horsemart was for riding club type horses and cheap(ish) type horses - mainly because this is what I look for on this website.
However I seem to come across a lot more competition horses and competition youngstock/foals on horsequest and horsedeals.

Could be wrong considering I only search for horses on the lower end of the price bracket.

I am always looking on there (check signature!)
I always put height, age, price range, sex, and area.
It is definitely the first place I look for horses for sale!

I look on there with the hope of finding a nice youngster to bring on. I think it is for any type of horse to be honest and I think you can find any type of horse on there whatever budget. It is an easy site to navigate and to search on - something I find on other sites difficult and irritating. I also find it is better as the advertisers seems to be able to put as much detail as they wish and vary their pics (not to mention put more than just one pic).

The downside is some people on there could have done with some help with spelling and grammar!

I look on Horsequest for competition horses and youngstock rather than Horsemart. I find Horsequest quicker to load and therefore I visit it more. However, when lorry buying I use Horsemart!
Not sure this helps does it?

Horsemart has a more sophisicated search engine than most horse sales websites, and allows people to search by county... Which appeals to those of us who don't want to or can't travel hundreds of miles in our quest for the perfect horse...
